This meeting has been used to throw the main conclusions obtained during the two years of life of the project, to reflect on them and to lay the foundations both for the sustainability of the results achieved in the project and to define possible future collaborations where these results will be put in value.

The partners have also had the opportunity to disseminate in Romania the main results achieved by the project, highlighting the benefits and utilities of the circular economy to make a more sustainable world and to achieve a greater inclusion of young people at social and labour level.

The project will continue its course with the realisation of the final dissemination events in each of the regions represented in the project.

The week of 1-5 July 2024 took place in the city of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) the training week “Training for Youngsters”, developed in the framework of the project The Circular Way to Inclusion.

20 young people from 4 countries of the European Union (Portugal, Latvia, Romania and Spain) had the opportunity to enjoy an intercultural experience and acquire a series of skills and values related to the circular economy and how it can represent a relevant means for social and labour inclusion.

In this way, during the 5 days the young people have been able to alternate workshop-style training sessions with study visits where they have been able to participate in a practical way in real experiences related to circular economy and inclusion.

The project will continue its way with the last international partners’ meeting in Arad (Romania) and the realisation of the different dissemination events of the project in each of the represented regions.

Training for Staff in Santiago de Compostela to make the circular economy a way to Inclusion for young people /training-for-staff-in-santiago-de-compostela-to-make-the-circular-economy-a-way-to-inclusion-for-young-people/ Mon, 24 Jun 2024 16:04:20 +0000 https://thecircularway.eu/?p=6060 The Circular Way to Inclusion project has held between the 17th and 21st of June in the city of Santiago de Compostela the training week for trainers in the field of youth.

This training has counted with the participation of at least two members of each of the 5 partners of the project under a peer learning approach, combining a series of workshop-style training actions with study visits related to the field of circular economy and social and labour inclusion of young people.

The competences acquired by the staff of the participating entities as a result of this joint learning experience have been the following:

  • Green Skills: Green skills, based on the Rs of the Circular Economy
  • Training Solutions: Provision of training solutions based on Circular Economy under a social and labour market perspective
  • Integration: Development of activities under the Circular Economy principles for the integration of youngsters with fewer possibilities

The project will continue its training itinerary with the celebration  from the 1st to the 5th of July 2024 of the Training Event for Youngsters (also in the city of Santiago de Compostela), on which youngsters from the 4 EU countries represented in the project will be trained on the possibilities that the circular economy offers for their socials and labour inclusion.

On 5 and 6 March 2024, the third transnational meeting was held in the Portuguese city of Lisbon, with the participation of the 5 partners of The Circular Way to Inclusion project.

In this meeting the different results achieved so far in the framework of the project were presented, especially the two Training kits on circular economy and on youth socio-labour inclusion. 

On the other hand, the foundations were laid for the celebration of the two training events of the project aimed at both trainers and young people from the regions represented in the project, which will be held in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) during the months of June and July, respectively, and which will serve to enhance the training resources developed during the project and thus multiply the impact of the circular economy for the socio-labour inclusion of young people.

The next partners’ meeting will take place in the Romanian city of Arad in September 2024, where the conclusions reached in the project and the mechanisms for its future sustainability will be defined.

The Circular Way to Inclusion project has completed the Guidelines for Awareness Campaigns Related to Circular Economy.

These guidelines are one of the tools within the project, which aims to develop and improve the skills of youth in the area of Circular Economy. The objective of these guidelines is to provide the necessary information for workers and volunteers from youth organizations to create impactful awareness-raising campaigns that inspire the next generation to adopt sustainable practices and have a positive impact.

The main audience for which this material has been developed for youth organization workers and volunteers, who have the capacity to empower and support young people to live sustainably and adopt circular economy practices.

The Circular Way to Inclusion project has made available a new series of best practices, this time related to successful initiatives on youth inclusion at social/labour market level.

It is a new compilation of factsheets describing social inclusion best practices across Europe. The objective of these factsheets is to show concrete and successful examples of youngsters’ integration and involvement on the society, especially addressing those with fewer opportunities.

These best practices complement the specific ones related to circular economy and will set the basis for the development of the Training Kit on youth inclusion at social/labour market level which will be developed in the following moths of project implementation.

On 27 and 28 June 2023, the second transnational meeting took place in the Latvian city of Liepāja, with the participation of the 5 partners of The Circular Way to Inclusion project.  

In this meeting, the different actions already developed in the project have been presented, such as the different good practices on circular economy already available in the platform (Circular Economy Digital Hub), as well as the structuring of the dissemination and visibility actions of the project and of the different organisations working with young people in the environmental and socio-labour fields in the partners’ regions. 

On the other hand, the different good practices in socio-labour inclusion of young people have been discussed with a view to their final publication, the guidelines for the successful implementation of awareness-raising campaigns on circular economy, as well as the definition of the structures of the training kits on both circular economy and socio-labour inclusion, materials that will be available in the coming months. 

The next partners’ meeting will be held in the Portuguese city of Lisbon in March 2024, where the final versions of the Training Kits will be defined.
